Myanmar and Its Fight for Democracy

The 2021 Coup
On February 1, 2021, the third military coup took place — the bloodiest in Myanmar's history. The Burmese people massively rejected military interference, giving birth to the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).
An Unprecedented Humanitarian Crisis
Over 3 million people displaced internally, half of them children. More than 15.8 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
The Resistance Persists
Despite repression, the resistance of the Burmese people is gaining ground. The creativity of ultra-connected generations and the determination of the people are weakening the military regime.
